The second ep of Guardians remixes, released October 1st, features reworks of tracks on Evan Fraser & Vir McCoy’s album Guardians, released on Interchill in 2020. We uploaded 24 Bit 96 kHz files for lovers of hi-res audio.
First up, Liquid Bloom takes the Rare Earth into another dimension, with signature intricate high quality production and a global electronic sound. Recordings of acclaimed mycologist and author Paul Stamets feature alongside Soriah’s Tuvan Throat Singing. Liquid Bloom is Amani Friend, one half of Desert Dwellers, and recent releases include collaborations with Pere, Shaman’s Dream and Porangui.
Grant Chambers (aka Resurrector) assisted on the mix of the Guardians album and he returns here with a powerful remix of The Condor, which features spellbinding vocals from Haar Suor of Siberian shamanic act Olox.
The co-founder of the envelope-pushing, 70 channel Live PA-toting underground anomaly that is Heavyweight Dub Champion, Resurrector also founded the ethnically diverse, multinational alchemical experiment known as Liberation Movement, which consists of more than 100 collaborators from five continents who work to tangibly generate a new reality through the power of music.
Heather Christie steps up with a crisp and well produced remix of Walk into the Forest. Building on the original version, Heather's remix keeps the best elements and adds some of her own, including her vocals to accompany the vocoded ones in the original. She manages to keep some of the abstraction and mystery of the original and yet her sound is more immediate, more present and very well defined.
As well as production and performance Heather Christie also teaches music production and vocal expression through her business Mind Body Music. She's also co-founded the groups Feral Fauna, Sirens of Soul, Silk Drop, and Honeywild and can also be found behind the decks at Ecstatic Dance events on the West Coast.
